Children's Church
| Time with Children and Worship Kids during Worship service

Choirs
Adult Chancel
| Practice on Wednesday nights at 7:30. Everyone is welcome to join the choir.

Bell Choir
| Practice Wednesday nights at 6:30. All members are invited to join the Bell Choir.

Childrens
| Choristers practice on Sunday mornings at 9:15. Ages: 5 - 8 years old.
Cherubs practice on Sunday mornings at 9:45. Ages: 3 - 4 years old.

Coffee House 5
| Held on every 5th Sunday from 5:00 - 6:00 PM in the Mount Olivet United
Methodist Church Memorial Hall. Gourmet Coffees, soft drinks, light refreshments, fellowship for adults, activities
for children (KFC-5 Kids For Christ 5). Sunday, Sep 30 will have special music by Sound of Faith.
Everyone is welcome.

Confirmation Classes
| All youth (rising sixth graders and above) who have not been confirmed to full
membership at Mount Olivet are encouraged to meet with the Pastor. Classes are scheduled throughout the year followed
by Confirmation Sunday, a trip to Lake Junaluska and another trip to meet the Bishop. |
Family Activities
| Planned by the Family Council to involve all ages, such as Homecoming,
Singing on the Mount, and the New Members' Recognition/Yearly Slide Show. Call the Church Office: 704-782-8846 for current information. |

Held in the parlor each Sunday at 9:15 AM by the Evangelism Team in order to provide fellowship and refreshments before Sunday School.

CVAN, Kenya Team, Meals on Wheels, Salvation Army, Agape, and other projects supported by our Budget, United Methodist Men,

Piecemakers Quilt Group

| The Piecemakers Quilt Group combines Bible study lessons with quilt blocks illustrating specific bible lessons.
This interesting group meets each Monday evening at 7:00 PM. |

Piedmont Singing Men

| Practice on Wednesday nights at 6:15 at Mount Olivet.
All men are invited to join from any church. They perform at different churches upon request. |

Prayer and Share
| Weekly prayer group held every Tuesday at 6:30 pm.

Singing on the Mount
| A music festival featuring the musicians of the church including the Bell Choir,
Chancel Choir, Soloists and other groups. |

Sound of Faith
|
We feel that the calling of our ministry is to worship our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in song so that
an atmosphere is created whereby the Holy Spirit can work in and among the people listening so that they
may have a greater understanding of the Love Jesus has for them.

Special Services | Easter Sunrise Service held on Easter morning at a specified time either at Carolina Memorial
Garden (weather permitting) or at Mount Olivet United Methodist Church.
Holy Thursday Service is held on the Thursday before Easter at 7:00 PM in the Sanctuary.
Thanksgiving Eve Service is held at 7:00 PM at a designated church.
Christmas Eve Services are held at 6:30 PM and 10:30 PM in the Sanctuary.

Women's Circle Groups

Ada Dayvault Circle meets the 1st Tuesday after the 1st Sunday at 7:00 PM in Memorial Hall.
K. Lee Scott Circle meets the 1st Monday after the 1st Sunday at 7:00 PM in Memorial Hall.
Zenobia Murph meets the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 7:30 PM in the Parlor.
Helen Fink Circle meets the 4th Tuesday of the month at 7:00 PM at various homes.

| XYZ Club | The Extra Years of Zest (XYZ) Club was organized in January 1974. Currently we meet on
the third Wednesday of each month. Hazel Poole serves as President, Lillian Goodman presents devotionals and
Henrietta Allen serves as both Secretary and Treasurer.
Through the years, our projects have included fixing Samaritan Purse Christmas boxes, collecting items for Agape
and for the night shelter, giving money to the Kenya Fund, and sending birthday cards.
Every June and October, we enjoy taking trips. Come join us!. We have a good time and we are
not as old as you think! |
