This small, landlocked country is one of the oldest in the world, and there is a surprising beauty in its stark rocky countryside,
where the fruits of human culture and cultivation stand out in contrast against the stony background. Orchards and vineyards provide unexpected color,
and historic cities and monasteries perch on scenic mountaintops or in temperate rain forests.

Project AGAPE -- Ministry to Armenia and to some of our most desperate Christian brothers and sisters -- is a collaborative effort of the North Carolina and the Western North Carolina Conferences of The United Methodist Church in a joint effort with the Armenian Apostolic Church. See North Carolina Conference - Project AGAPE for more information about this mission. |

"Dear Supporters of Project AGAPE,
First of all, I wish to express my sincere appreciation for your support for Project AGAPE in the past.
I have just returned from Armenia on a trip to introduce Bishop and Mrs. McCleskey to the project, the staff
and all those whose lives are touched by our efforts. They were amazed at how much Project AGAPE does with
the relatively small budget it has. As Bishop McCleskey said, "You just can't understand what all Project AGAPE
does until you come here and see it with your own eyes."
Combined with the shipments we send, Project AGAPE is making a significant difference in the lives of' our brothers and sisters in Armenia. In the Kashatagh Region of Karabagh, Project AGAPE is the ONLY humnanitarian aid organization licensed and meeting the needs of the people in this vast mountaineous region.
Children in Lachin who live in the orphanage receive all their clothing and food from Project AGAPE."
